Time For Tea....

My dear friends threw me an afternoon garden tea party

last week for my birthday.

What a delight it was. I tell ya, they went all out.

I thought it was very fancy... which made me feel like a Princess for the day.

We has delectable treats, tea sandwiches, salad, fruit, cold tea, hot tea.

You name it, it was all there & all so scrumptious !

The food was amazing, as was the company.

The table was set out in the garden.

We ate, we sipped tea and enjoyed the wonderful warm Spring day together.

Thank you to my dear friends for the sweet tea party !

I guess there is one definite bonus to your move, because the weather hasn't been near so kind here in WA!

  4. Wow! What a nice set -up! Such yummy goodies! What wonderful and loving friends you have:). I had a similar experience:)

    Neat info on the tea.:)

FYI- whoever gave the info, the Russian tea is pronounced 'chai' like you listed, but the spelling is not quite right. The first letter is not right- the other two are.

They use the cyrillic alphabet. Some letters look the same as ours, so the a and u look like our letters. The a sounds like a short a, and the u sounds like an ee sound, but when you put it together, the a and ee sound like ai ( or I/eye).

But the first letter doesn't look like a Y. It's called a che(short e, so pronounced like chet, but w/the t cut off),. Kind of looks like a scallop with the right side coming down straight/or slightly slanted.

They have a Y in their alphabet, which sounds like the oo sound (as in zoo).So it's quite another letter.

Alright, now that I've bored everyone, I'll go to bed. Too long a day.

great pictures!!! :)Love the tea info! Cognates are so much fun:) ...and one can see the similarities in etymology. Thanks for sharing.
