A Walk Through History Part II...Medievil Period

Welcome Back!!!
Here are more pictures from our trip through History last weekend.
Here we are in the 1500's, one of my personal favorite periods.

I like this period for the arts & crafts, and clothing.
We met an elderly lady who did the
most beautiful embroideries with yarn.
She has made a bunch of huge pieces with Saints on them.

She said each piece takes her well
over 6 weeks to complete!
They are almost as tall as she was.
I was totally smitten with her detail.

There were younger girls also
doing some really nice handiwork.
I was impressed!

This jolly fellow made delightful tables.
No machines, no nails...all by hand!
Makes one really appreciate a dying art.
He used authentic tools for much of his work...
now that is dedication.

We are quite impressed by these people, who put their
hearts and souls into they're love for history,
trying to keep it alive and sharing it with the public.
They were true to making it look so real...
as if we were really back in time.

My children were blessed by the whole exposition!
I hope you have enjoyed your stay...
come back in a couple days...
we will walk through another time together.

  1. How lucky you are to be able to go to something like this. My girls really would have loved all of this. Clarice
