is Christmas Cards.
I started our family news letter the year we had our first child, 15 years ago.
It is a great way to share with family members
that you don't get to see throughout the year.
I have found sending out almost 100 cards
to family & friends every year is costly.
The past several years I even minimized the list.
Even then, there is still the stress, cards to buy, write out,
stamp and getting in the mail on time.
Don't get me wrong...
I love sending out cards & letters, which I will continue to do,
but have to narrow it down even more to my
closest relatives and friends this year.
So, I have decided to send out a cyber e-card to many on my list.
Yup, sounds generic, I know.
I don't see any harm in sending such a wish through an e-card,
I think it is the thought that counts!
Yes, I love real Christmas cards, getting them in the mail,
hanging them up and praying for each person who sent them to us...
but if they decide to send me an e-card.
I will accept the wish with a cyber smile!

I thought about doing that too Mica. But there are the family that I don't even have their email address, just their mailing address, LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnd Great Grandparents who don't do email, or who have slow internet connection. ;-)
Otherwise, that's what I would do all together. I think it's a great idea!
I am going to send out my "family New Years Letter" out by email to those I have connections through facebook and email without the card.
By the way, Happy Belated Thanksgiving to you too! Sorry about the late greeting. I hope it was a lovely time for you. ♥
Hello Mica,I must simplify this year(actually I do every year but even more so this year) and it is feeling pretty good thus far....I agree your all your idea's concerning Christmas...it is very much over commercialized..seems like folks see who can spend the most on things that are not really needed are useful....kids get so much they tire of it so soon and don't fully appreciate what they do receive.....maybe most people will be cutting back this year due to the economy etc..but,I truly think a lot will be making big credit debts to get what they can't really afford to start with....just the way of the world I guess......I am sticking with the same ideas as you....simplify...is the best way to go......blessings
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas cards too, but have had to cut them becuase of costs. It is sad. Have a fun day xoxo Clarice
ReplyDeleteI understand this one all too well.
ReplyDeleteThis yr I made my own cards and will send the ones I made to the people I know who will not toss it..as it is a work of art.
Sending Ecards is a great idea!
thanks for the info.
