My Mother....

Sometimes it is strange to think that my Mother was once a little girl.
Born in 1950,this little girl would one day grow up,
get married and have a family all of her own.
She grew up in a nice home with loving parents who spoiled her.
She wore the finest clothes and had the finest dolls.

Yet, she didn't stay a little girl for long.
She grew up way ahead of her time...
At the tender age of 15, she got married.
She had three children.
One, of which was me...
( Her last baby)

She had a hard life from there.
Many years of pain and resentment.
One of sadness, hurt, broken promises, broken hearts and despair.
Yet, she never faltered.
She tried her very best to be a good mother,
with what she had.
At times it wasn't much.
I will always remember never
wanting to grow up...
and I always wanted to live with my Mom.

There is one thing I would like to say to her today.
Thank you!
For never giving up on me through the years...
  For always loving me, unconditionally.
And for instilling in me a loving heart.
This is the biggest quality I have adopted
as a Mother myself, for my children.
After those torturous years and hard lessons learned.
She finally found happiness in a new life.
In which I am very happy for her.

If I could give you diamonds
for each tear you cried for me.
If I could give you sapphires
for each truth you've helped me see.
If I could give you rubies
for the heartache that you've known
If I could give you pearls
for the wisdom that you've shown.
Then you'll have a treasure, mother,
that would mount up to the skies
That would almost match
the sparkle in your kind and loving eyes.
But I have no pearls, no diamonds,
As I'm sure you're well aware
So I'll give you gifts more precious
My devotion, love and care.
