Getting Cosy

After, Mr. Darling got me the 2010 craft calendar,
I found several really cute projects in there and
couldn't wait to sew up this sweet owlet egg cosy.
I used cotton batting for the body instead of felt and
had some colorful vintage fabric on hand too!
Even Miss Freckles is making one.
Though, she is a beginner in sewing,
she will probably finish her's a wee bit later.
I just love cozies.
Tea pot cozies, mug cozies, scone cozies and egg cozies
Oh My !
Yet, I never could figure out why people would need an egg cozy.
I suppose if they eat their hard boiled egg hot.
I preferably like mine cold.

No matter, this owlet is a
HOOT!
The gal who designed this darling,
also has the tutorial here.

If ya want one, you gotta make one!
It only takes about an hour.
Mine goes perfect with my colors!
Have fun!

Re-purposed Sweater~ Cuppa Cozy

I got the old Winter white sweater out that had holes in it,
and re-purposed a piece from the collar to make this
delightful Cup Cozy for my mug.
Don't you just hate it when you hold that hot cuppa tea,
coffee or coco and you burn those little digits?
I do!
I don't just hold the handle...
I like to wrap my hands around the whole thing,
especially when it is chilly.

I really like it. And it will keep my cuppa something
nice and toasty with the double layer I gave it.
I added a little heart too!
It is amazing what you can make with an old sweater...
why not re-purpose it for something fun.
I didn't have a pattern or anything,
I just fit it to my mug and sewed it up in less than an hour.
If you want directions.... let me know,
I will try to type up some good instructions to make one for yourself.

Wishing you a happy weekend ahead!
This is a really busy time of the year...
don't forget to stop for a moment to
enjoy your families and a
nice cuppa!

A Sip Of Tea.....

Every afternoon this week,
Freckles & I have sat down for a delightful cup of tea together.
These are the moments I treasure as a Mother.

I am sure she feels the same way.
We have promised to keep the Art Of Tea alive together,
and have quiet moments sipping a cup of brewed sweetness.

These are the cozy times, spent with my daughter.
And...
May I add, she is quite the character.

She placed the tea cozy on her head while poring her water into her cup.
I just giggled myself silly.
I told her she reminded me of the Pope.
She asked " who's that?"
I told her I would tell her another time...
The tea was getting cold.

We will surely keep this tradition of afternoon tea together.
It has been quit a lovely experience with my darling girl,
whom I cherish these moments with.

That our daughters may be as corner stones,
polished after the similitude of a palace.

My Antique Tea Cozy.........

Kelli from There Is No Place Like Home, hosts a Friday Show & Tell... Please stop by to see what others have to share.
My Show & Tell this week is my Antique Tea Cozy...in a wonderful Victorian Crazy Quilt Pattern, it has the most delightful stitchings from someone with quite the sewing skills.
This piece is soooo old. I am to afraid to use it.. I actually hung it on my wall , for it is truly a piece of Art work. I will be placing it in a glass shadow box when I find the perfect one for it.

I could only imagine, this may have been a Wedding gift.. I think that because of the many rings that were stitched...It is truly a remarkable piece with all sorts of colored satin fabrics. It is quite big too!!!
Since, I don't use it, my plans are to use the pattern of it and make a couple newer ones..maybe in a Crazy Quilt pattern !!!!

After boiling your water and placing it into your Tea Pot, you place your Tea Cozy over the pot while it is brewing. It helps to keep your tea warm and Cozy, for that perfect cup of Tea.
Thank You for stopping by. Have a Blessed Day !!!!
