Eating Better In The New Year ....

My Hubby bought me this book last week !!! I am so excited to dive into this.. since I and my children are picky eaters. I think this will help get a good dose of veggies in us. We tried the Brownies which have carrot and spinnach in it over at a friends house. I couldn't believe it. The brownie was good... and the thing was, even the kids liked it. So... here we go !!! A better way to eat for the New Year. I am sure many loving Mothers decepted their children over decades, hiding veggies in their food.. It's just a breath of fresh air for us busy Mama's with fussy eaters !!!

As a mother of three, Jessica Seinfeld, like many busy parents including ME, used to struggle to get her kids to eat right. In Deceptively Delicious, she shares her solutions: easy, mouthwatering recipes that even the most overwhelmed families can make — stealthily packed with unseen veggies, puréed so kids will never suspect.

Deceptively Delicious has all of Jessica's winning combinations, including cauliflower in macaroni and cheese, and spinach in brownies. She also shares tips on making healthy snacks and improving store-bought foods, as well as advice on creating a positive environment around the kitchen table. Deceptively Delicious is a godsend for all parents who want healthy kids, peaceful family meals, and never again having to say, "Eat your vegetables!"

Another book I have used and plan to use a lot more , is this book. Everything is there plus deserts... You just do the shopping. Last week we had a Chicken Dorrito Casserole, Homemade Pizza plus we made Salmon and Garlic Potato Wedges. Again as a busy Mom, this takes the guess work out of what to make....

This comprehensive cookbook tastefully combines ease of preparation and cost-efficiency while offering not just single dish recipes but full meal menus—one for every day of the year! With homespun charm, warm wit and playful trivia, home-cooks are provided with a ready-made plan for entire meals that are fun, economical and quick.

  1. Next time you're at my place feel free to dig through my cookbooks and homemaking books. I have so many. Especially quick meal and slow cooker. And I still have that make a mix cookery book to give you.

I think the sneaking veggies into food cookbook is a wonderful thing, I just hope that it still has all the nutrition and that it doesn't get cooked out too much, but hey, sneaked in is better then nothing at all, so I think it's good progress.
