Kelli from There Is No Place Like Home
hosts a weekly Show & Tell on Fridays. This is my first in many months... Welcome !!!!
Today my daughter is sharing her Elephant collection. She has loved elephants ever since she was really little. We started collecting the soft kind then came the collectibles. Since she is so careful with her things, we decided she was responsible enough to keep the breakables in her room displayed on a shelf.

The first two elephants here were made by me two years ago. I put a little picture of my daughter on the pink ellie. She loved it so much and that made me so happy !!!
These were some really fun finds. We love vintage things... Miss Bri was ever so excited about these. The pink one in the middle was her first vintage elephant from a Thrift Shoppe. The other two are salt and pepper shakers we found at a rummage sale.
The first three on the top here are all little vintage pieces as well. We got her this little trinket box from the Woodland Zoo Park in Seattle. The elephants name is Hansa. Sadly our real baby elephant Hansa from our zoo passed away June of last year . We were so heart sick when we heard the news. Miss Bri was sad that we wouldn't see her when we visit the zoo. She loves the elephant candle holder too !!
The two in the first picture here are made by an Artist here in Seattle who sculpts these statues from the ash of Mt. St. Helen's. The next picture is a sweet purple elephant ornament, the middle one is a collector piece through Red Rose Tea , then a sweet vintage plastic elephant we recently found in an antique mall.
This elephant is very special to her since Mr. Darling and I got it for her several Christmas' ago. We are planning to get her more from that collection. They are so sweetly detailed by a company called Tuskers.
When the day is done all little elephants must sleep !!!! Thank you for stopping by and seeing my little girls collection.
What a fun collection. I love the elephants and especially like the pink furry one you first made your daughter.

That's a pretty extensive collection! So cute! I never would have thought of collecting elephants! Isn't it quirky how one can start collecting certain things and it just seems to catch on?
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed scrolling through your blog. I beleive it is my first time to visit here!
OMGoodness!! This is such a 'dreamy' Show n Tell. So darned cute...and that last photo, just melts my heart!!!
ReplyDeleteMy Show n Tell is bone china cardinals this week. And especially a favorite...a cardinal music box.
The show n tell is following a set of photos of a tornado that ripped through where my nephew lives!!! I had to post those first since it's family!! So, scroll down.
Happy weekend, and for the Americans, have a safe holiday!

What a wonderful collection you've put together. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteI used to collect elephants for many years, but then turned to other items. I still value those that I have left.
How absolutely darlin'! Your daughter and her collection too! I think it's a great idea to let kids have their own collections. It made it easier on our own kids when we drug them to antique stores and such if THEY had something to hunt for! I loved the Tuskers one!
ReplyDeleteConnie
