Welcome it's Rednesday today!!!
Hosted by It's A Very Cherry World!
In the midst of swimming lessons, shopping, cleaning,
laundry and cooking for my family I finally finished
my little patchwork picnic quilt I started last week...
Can't wait to use it! I am not reallly a quilter at all.
You can say I kinda winged it as I went. I cut all the squares the same
size from two three different vintage sheets with
strawberry and flower prints and a couple other coordinating fabrics.
I sewed them in rows and sandwiched it with batting and a stripey sheet for the backing.
I also added red with white polka dotted circles and
sewed in a circular pattern around them on top of red squares.
It really added a little whimsy to it. I am BERRY happy with the results .
The colors are so happy... It makes me smile!
I was sure to add quite a bit of my favorite color to it!
If you guessed red...You're right!
Now to plan our picnic at the park!
~Life's Patchwork Quilt~
Life is like a patchwork Quilt
And each little patch is a day
Some patches are rosy, happy and bright
And some are dark and grey.
But each little patch as it is fitted in
Are sewn to keep it together
Makes a finished block in this life of ours
Filled with sunshine and rainy weather
So let me work on life's patchwork Quilt
Through the rainy days and the sun
Trusting that when I have finished my block
The Master will say "Well done"

beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh I just love that quilt. I am so loving your blog look also. The background reminds me so much of a ribbon I have wrapped around one of my planters..
ReplyDeleteHi Mica! Thanks for popping by my Blog. I must tell you...I am so jealous!!! 1 week to create the beautiful piece of quilted art?!?!?!? I wish I had 1 inth of your patience.
ReplyDeleteThe small rolling pin..that is really a spoon rest that matches the potholder. I bought those years ago..my Great Grandpa had similar ones hanging on the kitchen wall saying that's were my Great Grandma's kept em..and no one ever allowed to touch em...so when I saw those I snatched em up to hang in my kitchen...don't know whatever happened to ones in that long ago kitchen tho.
Oh well, I'm still all red with envy over the quilt :D
Love it Mica...it's wonderful...I am sure it won't be long until it will come in to good use on a delightful picnic....can't wait to read that post...smile...blessings

It's fabulous!! What a great job Mica, and I just love the colors :) So summery and some of the best results in crafting come from just 'winging' it *grin*. Have fun using it :)
