Off To A Good Start...

Today we officially started off our home school year. We got off to a good start. We got up on time, made a yummy breakfast of blintzes and Nutella & banana stuffed crepes with whipped cream on top. Oh yeah...

And...
Lot's of coffee.

This year I had to be frugal and use what we already had for curriculum....Thankfully I held onto my son's old home school books. The morning starts off with the Bible which we are going through Proverbs, then we have a Bible study on The Life of Christ and a character study through Beautiful Girlhood. We move onto Math, Science with A Christian Perspective, World History, Spelling Power, Themes in Literature, Reading...Currently about Corrie Ten Boom, Charlotte Mason~Simply Grammar, Health & Physical Ed at the Gym or outside exercise, Writing Strands, Art and extra curricular activities or field trips set on Friday's. Next semester we will add in Geography with map skills and another writing program.

After our first day of school was complete...
I treated the family to some yummy chocolate chip cookies.
They were well deserved after such a great first day of school.
My girl worked diligently hard. I couldn't ask for anything more than that.
Here's to a wonderful week ahead....
