Here it is! A new chapter: The High School years for Freckles. 

This year she starts 9th grade....

Muppet Or A Man

Freckles and her bestie participated in their youth group's fundraiser for Summer Camp this July. The youth group hosted a lip syncing concert....These girls did the song to the new Muppet Movie called Muppet Or A Man...It was cleverly hilarious. They had the whole church busting at the seams.

I am so proud of my girl. She has really come out of her quiet (shy) shell in the last couple of years. This last year has been filled with so much growth. Her personality shines bright. She is beautiful and witty. The perfect pair.

Not only were my girls wonderful on stage, but so was the whole group of acts. It was very entertaining. They did this to raise monies for their Summer Camp to Hume Lake this July. I hope they made lot's of money to help some of these kids out.

Summer Ombre Highlights

We kicked off the Summer with some ombre highlights for Freckles. She ha wanted to do this for over a year now...So, we treated her to a fun salon trip in celebration of finishing up her last year of Jr. High. It is dramatic yet natural looking which is just what we were looking for. Freckles is so excited...and looking sassy!

I think she looks amazing with the highlights! It brings out her beautiful big eyes and gorgeous porcelain skin. It's subtle yet striking!

Here's to Summer!!!!!

Sun Kissed

The season changes, the weather warms and the sun kisses noses. It's so nice to see her Freckles a lot more prominent than they are during the Winter months. I love this time of year. The flowers bloom, the prettiest birds sing the prettiest songs, the grass is greener from light showers and the sun shines bright on warm days. The sun has kissed her softly. This girl of mine is getting closer to her 15th year this coming Summer. Hard to believe how the seasons pass us by. She has bloomed so much this year. Since this last Fall she has started part time homeschooling at an awesome Academy and has made a handful of darling girlfriends. She has become less reserved with her peers and found the courage to speak in front of people through speech and presentations she has to give in her classes. We are thrilled to see her in her element,such I delight!

Since before Christmas she started to self teach herself and play the Uke..and yes, she even sings a little. pleasantly she is quite good at it too. Soon she will be getting a new Concert Uke, which is just a bit bigger than her Soprano. Then for her birthday she is getting a Banjolele...It's a Uke that has the sweet sounds of a banjo! It's really neat!

What a blessing to have two very talented, musical kids. I love it!!!

Christmas Jammies & The Christmas Stocking...

Christmas traditions are extra special. We have enjoyed many different little traditions in our family since our kids were little ones. And even though our son is grown and living on his own and our girl is still home...She may be a teenager, but she still loves the traditions. She looks forward to the special Christmas Jammie's she gets every year and The Stocking she gets to open when she wakes up Christmas Eve Morning. I love it too. I make or find the special jammie's that will be worn throughout the year before getting the new ones next Christmas. I usually give them their jammie's the night before Christmas Eve, so they can wear them to bed and when they wake...They have them on while opening up The Christmas Stocking

The Stocking is filled with particular items every year. It consists of:

Something to Read, something to eat, something to play with and something you need. I place The Stocking in their bedroom while they sleep. And when they wake on Christmas Eve...(even if no one else is awake or with them) They can open The Stocking and enjoy their goodies. It's a nice way to have a quiet morning, make breakfast while they are reading the book they have wanted so badly. The treat tides them over while they wait for Christmas Eve breakfast. The thing to play with can be a little toy or game or puzzle. That will also keep them amused for the morning. The something they need. I add in something like socks, or bubble bath...Just something they can use throughout the year.

This is a tradition I will hang onto for as long as I can. I am sending my son a stocking of his own via snail mail..Because your never too old to enjoy some Christmas fun! This year I let Freckles have her jammie's early...But...She will have to wait on The Stocking just a couple more days. 

Festivities With Friends...

This Christmas season has been a very busy one for us this year. It has been fun! Freckles has new friends from the Academy and her Speech Club as well as Youth Group. The school had a fun days Christmas celebration before break. We attended her friends Nutcracker Ballet and another friends Christmas play at their church.

She had a Christmas elephant gift exchange party with her speech club...That was fun watching all the kids steal the good gifts and play games.

She went  to her Winter dance and a group movie with classmates to see The Hobbit. She also went ice skating and went to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party for the youth Group she has been attending. I'd say it has been full of fun festivities. Just a little less than one more week before Christmas already too. It is flying by so quickly.

It has melted my heart to see my girl have some great times

 with her new friends this year.
