The Color Of Autumn In My Home

I'm setting my table for Thanksgiving this year with bright colors of Autumn. Simple setting of candle sticks, candles, fabric pumpkins in a happy hue, turkeys and a whimsical pilgrim. You have been invited to new friends home for Thanksgiving this year. it will be nice to spend with someone as we are away from family and our boy won't be joining us this year. I do however plan to make a little Thanksgiving meal of our own, since we love eating the leftovers....Nothing like a toasted turkey sandwich slathered with cranberry sauce for lunches throughout the week. But what I am most looking forward to is Christmas this year. As many of you know we didn't have Christmas in our home....We were in transition before moving here this last Spring. My Christmas stuff has been packed away since 2011.

We are however looking to celebrate this Thanksgiving with new friends/church family in a new place. We have so much to be thankful for. The Lord has blessed us with this huge opportunity to serve Him, to plant a new church in our new area with His people. Our daughter is slowly transitioning, making a couple friends, though it has been a very hard time for her, especially this last year with all that we have endured and with our son moving from our home, out on his own. Without him has been quite strange for us to get used to. She misses her big brother and still often breaks down in tears. And truly friendships have been very hard to develop. Yes, she has us, but in some ways she is quite lonely...I'm  doing all I can do to help make her comforted and make things fun for her. My heart really breaks sometimes and is hard to find support. But we keep on moving on. We have each other and most of all we have the good Lord to lean on for everything. Our faith is wholly on Him. This is a time to reflect on so many things that we are not really deserving of. God is loving and so good. I am in awe every time I sit down and think upon those things.
I am so thankful
