Our Easter Table Setting...

It's almost time to celebrate Easter Sunday. This little bluebird made by my friend Jenny at Polka Dot Pixie gave me the inspiration for our Easter table scape this year. A bit of red, white and touches of other colors and oh yeah of course the blue in this darling birdie.

I painted a second chalk board for my windows...
I just used a couple vintage cupboard doors...sprayed them and wrote on them.
 Perfectly simple and sweet.

I used my everyday dishes and red chargers....Then got these tiny white buckets from the $1 store.. just filled them with paper fetti and added in an egg... For Easter I will fill them with real eggs...
For now it's just plastic ones.

The Blue birdie sits on top of my red and white plate...I made a candy centerpiece from a candle votive by filling it with jelly beans and placing the plate on top...too cute.

We also made red and white polka dotted  pom poms ( Tissue paper from Hobby Lobby). Then made the sweet simple pendants from white linen and red binding tape...Simple...

Well I'm off to add some finishing touches, make homemade candy for the baskets and color eggs...
Thanks for hopping in
Have yourself a happy day.

A Babushka Brunch Tablescape.....

Ready for Brunch?.... A Babushka Brunch that is!
I set the table for a fun Spring Brunch. This table is so colorful...It made me happy inside! So happy I am leaving the setting for dinner too! I got out my thrifty finds from garage sales, thrift stores and World Market!
The table is set with all the colors of the rainbow and Spring!
I love it!

The small plates were thrifted as the yellow plates were
brand new from a garage sale earlier this Spring. I spent a dollar on each plate...Not too bad!
The babushka Matryoshka napkin rings are from World Market...
I found them last Fall...So sweet, I even got Babushka salt and pepper shakers.
I used a candle base and vintage bowl with a plate on top to serve as a serving dish of course. It gave the table setting a whimsical fun feel to it. The runner is just a big napkin I found thrifting. I used a polka dotted vase for my orchids that I had on hand which I also found thrifting a couple years back.
I used my vintage cloth napkins which I picked up at a little antique shop for pennies. The Babushka glass ware was found on Ebay as the other glasses were from a garage sale.  It doesn't take a lot of money to make a table setting fun...I really just used what I have laying around and pulled it all together.
I hope this will inspire you to think out of the box, make it fun with Lot's of colors...It will bring cheer to whatever occasion. Thank you for taking the time to drop in today.
Have a great remainder of the week ahead!

Spring Breakfast Table....

I am so excited!
I was out yesterday running errands and picking up Freckles from her friends house and decided to look real fast through a passing Thrift store. There it was right in front a me....A sweet little vintage table and two chairs. Surely, it would too much for my pocket book. I only had $25.00 from my birthday gifted from my dear MIL. I got out and took a wee look...and asked the guy how much. He said...Well, how about $85.00 and I'll give you half off! Hmmm....Nope still too much for me. I got the gull up to ask if he'd take $20.00...He thought for a minute and said... How about $25.00!!! I said, or shall I say I screeched YES!!! I'll take it!!!

So, I came home with a cute table and two chairs for the amount I was willing to spend... I cleaned it up with Ajax...It was dirty!!! Then I decorated it this morn for a sweet Springy breakfast!

I got out all my cute reds, yellows and white vintage stuff and went at it!
Check out this funny lil Chick with a polka dot scarf...I got her at the Dollar Tree.

As a center piece I placed some of my fun soda pop bottles
on a ceramic dish and put some flowers in them.
I used my red chargers from my Sister which she got from Target. Yellow plates originally from Ross priced at $3.99 each...I got them at a Garage sale for one buck each! And, they were still new with price stickers. Red and white plates I bought a couple years back from The Dollar Tree. Red napkins gifted to me for Christmas from my SIL & Brother, and the sweet whimsical dishes I got from my Sil & Brother as a birthday gift this month! So sweet!!! I love how all the colors and patterns go with each other. I also used my polka dot glasses from Target!

I am already planning to re-cover the chair seats in reds...
Probably will be quilted patchwork or something. I can see it now!

So, then I made a french toast with eggs and bacon breakfast and a glass of milk!
We enjoyed the morning sitting around my new table. I just love a bargain!!!

One Last Christmas Table Setting...

I got to set the table again for one last Christmas dinner for 2010.
I am linking with Tablescape Thursday
My parents and Gramma came over to cook a huge feast and open some gifts. I wanted to make it special since we didn't celebrate with them for Christmas day...It still felt like it was. For this table setting i used a few things from my previous table settings. The red chargers from my sis (Target), large white with red plates from Dollar Tree, smaller red and white plates from Target but I thrifted for much less. The Table cloth was hand made and Thrifted for $2.00, Santa bowls from Walmart on sale for $1.50 each & red and white gingham napkins thrifted for 25 cents each.

I used my polka dot and stripe glasses which were from Target and misc.
Christmas plates on top of bowls which were like pedestals.

It was a delightful day spent with family and wonderful
food now ready to ring in the New Year!

Christmas Eve Winter Dinner Table....

The table is set for our Christmas Eve dinner.
Posted on
Tablescape Thursday.
I had such a good time
 decorating our Christmas table,
I had to decorate our dinner table for tonight.
I pulled out my old quilt, threw it over the table and set
it for our family in the main dining room.

I pulled out our snowmen dishes given to me last year from my Mama.
The red chargers my sister gifted me gave the setting a bit of a pop...
Red of course must adorn my table.
I used paper doilies, snowflakes and snowmen.

It turned out to be a sweet starry, wintery scene.
The advent candles were aglow in the center of the table. The Christmas music played...
The night awaited good cheer as we prepared to celebrate the birth of our Savior!

A sweet simple festive table set for a brilliant occasion.
May you and yours have a wonderful Christmas dinner.
