Making Friends From Blogland.....

A few months ago I got an e-mail from this gal who said she was home schooling her three boys for the first time this year. She had come across my blog and said she felt it was an inspiration to her, which grew into her starting a blog herself.
Meet Jen from
With the recent passing of their Grandmother, led them to California to attend their family in the celebration of their Grams life. She e-mailed me letting me know she was going to be in the area, which happened to be an area where we used to live 10 years ago. We planned to meet at a quaint little restaurant called Rutabegorz. We pulled up and embraced each other in a hug and had a delightful lunch visiting.

The place was darling with all the quirky things on the walls. I noticed someone eating a salad which was served in a huge bowl... like the size of a mixing bowl for baking. Jen said they are known for their huge salads.

Afterwards we went to a park next to the restaurant, then across the way was water fountains coming out of the ground. Kids+ water = FUN !!!! So they all went through. My daughter and one of Jen's sons got soaked to the bones. If they could have they would have swam in the thing. It was fun watching them run through the water on such a beautiful day.

We then decided to walk around and go through some shops, which brought back some fond memories of many visits to those places when my boy was just a little tike. We browsed through music shops, and a Christian book store, a small museum gift shop, The Brick Basement which was one of my fave places to go filled with antiques and goodies. I am going back there soon to browse some more !!! We went through a couple quirky shops and called it a day...since the children were all wiped out.

It was a blessing to have met Jen and her children yesterday. They are so sweet. They are headed to our neck of the woods next week , which may give us one more little visit, if they have time. Or we promised to see one another back in blog land.
Thanks Jen !!! It was a fun day !!!

  4. Mica this is amazing! My friend Cathy lives in Fullerton and we had dinner or lunch with them here often. We missed it this last trip but it is one of our favorite places to eat. We used to have dinner and then go to the theater just around the corner.
