We are enjoying our Apple days... Today we made an Apple Wrap Pie. You just add 2/3 cups brown sugar,1/3 cup flour, 4 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples, 1 tablespoon margarine together in a bowl...Roll out a 13 inch circle of your favorite pastry dough, place on a cookie sheet.
Mound apple mixture onto the center of the circle leaving at least 3 inches of edge. Fold over edge of pastry over apples, making pleats so it lays flat on apples.Sprinkle pastry with sugar. Heat oven to 425 degrees and bake for 30~35 minutes until golden brown. Cool one hour or serve warm if desired. You can serve this with ice cream or whipped cream...I made homemade whipped cream for ours. Yum!
( my mixture baked fine except the sugar mixture didn't melt all the way)...
So be sure you mix the mixture really good before putting
it on the pastry before baking...
It was still really good though!!!
Freckles also took a lovely red apple
to make a dried apple face doll.
This process will take a couple weeks until it shrivels
and starts to look like an old granny...
I can see it becoming a great Italian Christmas La Befana doll.
I hope you enjoyed the red apples, my red apple corer, a red plate,
a red bowl my mom gave me over the weekend and red & white gingham napkins
Have a Happy Rednesday!

I think it is time you sprinkle me with little girl dust and let me come to your house for a sleepover...then I can wear my old jambes all day. Buddy and I LOVE apples. You are making me want to drive out the one of the big orchards and get a bunch....my mouth is watering as I am typing.
