Last month on one of our thrifting jaunts...Hello.......I found this little single headboard. I loved the curves and kinda liked the color and knew just what I would use it for. Not a bed...But a chalkboard. Since I had all this free time this weekend while everyone was away from home. I figured, heck....Why not finish some of those projects that I keep putting off. I got out my trusty can of chalkboard paint, some tape and voila...It was an instant chalkboard. I tore the legs off and put it on our fireplace mantel. It was a quick project. So I got out another project awaiting some attention.
I got this ugly lamp for half off while thrifting over Presidents weekend. Brass (yuck) and the old worn lampshade had to get a new makeover. I pulled out one of my old vintage tablecloths that had a few stains on it ....a bit of red rick rack, red lace and recovered the shade...Instant love. The brass got a lovely spray of happy yellow...Found a home on my side table in the family room. Another quick makeover. I am so happy with what I got done. My thrift store trash purchases now has new life and purpose...A new treasure for me.
Now only if the lighting was better to get clearer pics. I hope you can see them well enough. Now I am off to do a bit of cleaning. We're having company for lunch after church. And, my baby girl comes home tomorrow too...She made it through camp..Woot woot. thanks for all the sweet comments from earlier...Time really flew, and that is a good thing. Have a wonderful Sunday.
