Happy St. Paddy's Day 2014

We celebrated St. Paddy's Day with our usual corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots, a delightful loaf of Irish soda bread and a scrumptious Irish apple cake with custard. Mr. Darling picked up some fancy drinks, we played some Irish music and enjoyed our bountiful feast. After dinner we watched a movie about Saint Patrick.

And we wore GREEN!

It was a sweet evening spent together, just the three of us.

Pentecost Ball...

 

This last week has been busy busy...We prepared for Mr. Darling's graduation day and party....which I will share in the next post. It was a lot of work. Our family, friends and church family came down to celebrate the big day. It was wonderful. I am so proud of him, his accomplishment and ready to  move on with whatever God grants. Sunday we celebrated Pentecost which Among Christians, Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Twelve apostles and other followers of Jesus as described in the Acts of the Apostles 2:1–31. For this reason, Pentecost is sometimes described as the

 "Birthday of the Church."

The Pentecostal movement of Christianity derives its name from the New Testament event. To celebrate this occasion our church held a Pentecost Ball. It has been something we have been looking forward to for some time. The day finally came. The girls were busy getting ready two hours before the ball while the guy's were still messing around with music.

   

The girls looked absolutely beautiful.

The gentlemen looked dashing as ever. And of course this proud Mama had to take a bunch of pictures. I just love all these kids. They are each a very special piece to our lives and hearts. And this may just mark one of the last shindigs we get to share with them before our move. ;(

  

We arrived to the ball. It was a lovely setting to have this event. The pom poms and lights the ambiance of the candles and food, friends and fellowship were breathtaking. We enjoyed dancing with our friends into the late evening..We laughed and learned some new moves. It was so enjoyable.

 I wish you all were there.

         

These memories made over the past several weeks will forever be imprinted into our minds and hearts. It was a perfect setting filled with so much love and laughter,

 I cannot express how very blessed we have been while here.

 

Despite the fall down a flight of stairs last week, stubbing my pinkie toe into a cart, which broke my nail half off and breaking my toe while dancing. I will cherish the time we had celebrating with our family and friends as we move into a new chapter of our lives.

Ode To The Last Week Of 2010...

 

Well, this is it! The end of 2010 is fast approaching. The Christmas season has come and gone so quickly I can't even breath. It was a wonderful Christmas time though. We have made memories with family and friends, forever embedded in our hearts. The top pics. are a couple handmade gifts I got for my kids....

 

We had a delightful yet very modest Christmas.
Time together was spent with those we love.
 We will always cherish the times we had.

 

My parents and Gramma came after Christmas
 to spend the day and eat a delicious feast.

 

 

We were even blessed by the fantabulous visit from
 old friends Zoe, Robert and Zoe's daughterAmarantha..
They have been friends of mine since I was 14. It has been YEARS...like 13 years since we have seen one another. Neat thing is My son and her daughter played together as small children and have kept in touch through the Internet and talking on the phone. It was so great to see them and talk about the olden days. Sorry to see them go so soon!

I look back on the past couple weeks to this last week of 2010
 and remember times spent with my sweet Nephew as he baked cookies with Freckles.

 and spending a weekend together...then her visit with us
before Christmas as she had the opportunity
 to share in our Advent Feast. What a blessing!
 She's even coming up again to ring in the New Year with us...Can't wait!!!

These are the moments we will remember for always. I pray this coming New Year will be full of  faith, family, friendship and fellowship. May God bless you all in your year ahead. Canterbury Gardens.....

 

Freckles & I went out for morning coffee and muffins with friends then off
  to Canterbury Gardens Gifts  where we browsed around rooms
 full of trees and decorations... It was magical!

 

We had fun looking at all the pretty trees adorned with goodness...
We even had a few quirky moments like pretending
 we were eating the food in the kitchen room....
The trees were filled with tasty treats and candies galore.
 That was my favorite part of the shop.

  


Another favorite part was the back of the shop where the magic was...The sweet village with trains running through them...You could here the little whistles and toots with the chug a lugs in motion...It surely is a child's moment to watch the trains going through the tunnels and through the little towns and cottages.
 It was mesmerizing to both freckles & I.


 

It was a fun filled morning spent with friends....
