Looking Back....

First I want to start off by thanking each one of you who kindly stopped by and left the sweetest encouraging comments over the weekend. Each one, each thought and each prayer is a blessing to me which I appreciate with all my heart. Thank you.

As the New Year recently rang in just a short couple of weeks
ago. I wanted to reflect on the past year we had...I looked back into my past year of posts, which is always fun to do. Seeing my kids grow up before my eyes, the comings, the goings the changes...
the good times, the hard times and blessed by what is to come. I don't know what is to come at this moment....Yet overwhelmed by the now of not knowing, yet trying to be content...Then the BIG changes in our family life...Which I promise to share very soon. There are moments of sadness and tears that flow...yet the reassurance in my faith that God has it all under control.
He has a great plan for all of us. This last year was filled with many blessings and true friendships were sown into our life...Our faith has only grown stronger through the hard times and the hurdles we currently have to overcome now will grow us even more. I pray not only our lives will be better  in this New Year 2013...But that your lives will be filled with goodness, love and laughter..
Here's to a wonderful New Year ahead.....

We rang in the New Year with our friends, yummy food, drinks, games, music and horns & poppers and a wonderful devotion time with reading scripture, and singing a hymn. We have so much to be thankful for this last year...Looking forward to the New Year ahead of us.

Reflecting on The Past Year & New Year To Come...

As I reflect on this last year which flew by faster than the wind....Looking through the past years pictures... I am grateful and blessed by the many blessings God bestowed on our family. My children are thriving and growing up by leaps and bounds, I am so thankful for them. My dear Mr. Darling is almost finished with his 4th year of seminary soon to get his masters degree...what an accomplishment. My son was able to make a wonderful trip to the Czech Republic for three weeks this last Summer, he started driving, got a job and going to college to major in music. We have created some wonderful things, baked and cooked some great food, canned many sweet delights and sewed some fun projects. We look forward to what God has in store for the coming year. My hubby will graduate in May as we will then have a chance to start all over again with a new career and home. Just having the privilege to watch our children grow and share many moments and make memories we will cherish forever. I can't even imagine or fathom what is in store for us... I am so excited as I am also looking forward to creating more and continue making a happy home for my family.
My wish for  you this coming year 2012 will be a blessing to you and your family.
I will see you all in the New Year

New Year Beginnings...

Hi...It's me!!!
Happy New Year... Hope your New Years Eve was wonderful and safe.
Today I want to leave you with a prayer.
****

"God of love, You have brought us safely to a new year. Thank you for the many blessings of family, friendship and fellowship including the trials of 2010. Yet again, Your bounty and love know no bounds. Keep us all strong in faith and love of You, that we may be open to the unknown gifts of 2011. Amen."

Last night we spent an evening with dear friends. Sadly my SIL and Nephew couldn't make it due to his little flu.The kids rang in the New Year with pots and pans and yelling out Happy New Year for all the neighborhood to hear...Sorry if they were asleep.I guess we are just the wild ones.

It was a treasure to have them spend
 the evening of fellowship together.

A great start to the new year ahead of us!
May you have a blessed 2011 beginning!

Shaping Up In The New Year

Rarely do I have pictures of myself on my blog.
I guess you can say I am self conscious of getting
it taken and sharing my flaws.
Sounds silly really.
Well, anyway, I thought I would share my new haircut for the year.
I haven't had it cut since Mothers Day.
You can say, as a Mother, I am usually
the last one to do anything for myself.
So I let things go.
They cut off a good 4-5 inches off!
Then I came home and gave it a fresh coloring
to cover up those little pesky nuisances.
Now this is gonna sound off the wall but I went into
the drug store to buy some cold medicine...
and the clerk asked me if I was over 18!
What.... are you kidding me!
Yeah really... I was shocked..
number one I didn't know you had to be
over 18 to buy cold medicine..and two,
I was with my 15 year old son and she
thought maybe I wasn't old enough
( I don't even get carded anymore).
It must be the hair and the color and the way I was dressed...
I don't know...I am just flattered .
Oh to be that young again!
In a couple years I am going to be 40!

Well, I tell ya, the haircut made me feel great and
the new outfit my sweet Sister In Law bought me...
really did the trick.
(GRIN) (WINK)
Well, for this year ahead I plan to keep up with
getting my hair done more often, going to the gym to lose those
unwanted pounds that crept up on me and get into shape !
I promised my self and ( Mr. Darling ) to keep up with my
routine around the house and with the kids.
not to mention keep smiling, laughing and enjoying life!

Because this life is surely a blessing.
