My daughter & I went to our first Keepers At Home Club meeting,
which our friends started from Church.
A group of Mothers and daughters, to teach and
prepare girls to become godly, competent keepers of the home,
Christian wives, and mothers.
It not only includes extensive skills for practical living and creative handiwork,
but provides for spiritual growth as well with a variety of Bible reading
and memory work,
and even a study on Proverbs 31.

The girls started their stitchery projects, which will give them great practice.
They also started an applique quilt which we will share next month as it progresses.
They spent time singing a hymn, working on their craft, fellow shipping and having a yummy snack which each girl will have to bake from a recipe this month.
Every month they will meet, practicing their stitches,
working on a craft, bible memorization, singing hymns and sharing a new recipe.
Each girl will also receive an apron which they
will wear and collect their achievement pins on.

There is nothing more important than teaching
our daughters to love the Lord and live godly lives by serving
Him and by living for Him.
We can best live for Him by living our lives in the role
He has designed for us~being help meets and keepers at home.

I just love the idea of this club. MY kids were raised in AWANA and VBS, but I would have loved something like this for my girls and I.
ReplyDeleteYoure a wonderful mother Mica!
Hi Mica,I have been feeling a calling for this very same idea in our church. I even posted about it on another blog that I have for our ladies group. Your church group sounds wonderful and I do believe it's God's desire for young girls to be trained and prepared for their roles as "Keepers of the home". I think God may be enlightening many more of his followers on this subject as there are so many little girls and young women who have no clue to their respectful roles in the marriage and home as well as the church. May God bless each little girl and their mothers too in your group. It's a wonderful God inspired thing that you all are doing. Please, post about your adventures in this sweet group often....
