Just What The Doctor Ordered.....

Mr. Darling got home from the hospital yesterday morning.
He will have to take it easy this week before he gets back to school.
Going through pain such as he did the past couple days is really exhausting to the system and nerves. He had visitors over the past several days as well in the hospital
. God has truly blessed us with  our friends and family as well as
YOU!
Thank you so much for the prayers and well wishes for my dear Darling.
And to our dear friends who got us through this week as well as with meals for my children while we were gone and the meals we have for the rest of the week truly helps me be able to take care of things, get my hunny better and focus on my kids without the worries of what's for dinner.
Thanks to our friends who got Miss Freckles to and from her Keepers at Home group.

She went to her Keepers at Home group and got to decorate cakes.
She did her cake especially for her Daddy.
This cake is the sweetest thing I have seen in a while.
She really did an awesome job on her cake.
She even wrote "Feel Better"
It is beautiful!

She was very proud of it and presented it to her Daddy.
That just melted his heart.
We had our lovely dinner and the awesome
cake Miss Freckles made for dessert!

This was the perfect thing to start Mr. Darlings healing process
and just what the doctor ordered!
Thanks again everyone!!!

Painted Earth Ceramics...

This months Keepers At Home Club
was held at Painted Earth Ceramics.
A quaint little shoppe in our area.
The girls got the chance to paint ceramics...
Some for the very first time.

Miss Freckles was a little disappointed to find
there were no more elephants,
so she chose a sweet little owlet instead.
She was delighted to have the opportunity
to paint ceramics for the first time ever!

All the girls chose their pieces and got
busy painting their little hearts out.

They worked hard and long on their pieces.
Surely they will turn out lovely
once they are glazed and fired.
She can't wait to get her little owlet back!
It was a memorable time spent with her friends this month!
Once we get her owlet home, we will post it all finished!!!

Have an owlet kind of day!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie....

Welcome to our kitchen!
Miss Freckles had to bake a pumpkin cheesecake pie
for her Keepers At Home Club to share
with her friends for the month.
We chose to do this pie since it is so close to Thanksgiving.
We also thought we would share the recipe with our dear readers!

~Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie~

1 & 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers
1 stick of butter
( you will need to do this twice for two pies)
3- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 C. sugar
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1- 16 oz. can pumpkin
4 eggs whipped cream
( This mixture will be enough to fill two pie plates)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

First crush graham crackers in a bowl til you have 1 & 1/4 C.

Beat together graham crackers and butter til mixed thoroughly.
Press mixture down evenly into the bottom of pie plate....
Don't worry about pressing it to the sides...
Just the bottom.
Do this whole step one more time for your second pie.
Bake on 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes...
Let cool while you are preparing your mixture.
Make sure once you take out the pie crusts to turn oven
down to 300 degrees!

Beat together two cream cheese blocks, vanilla, ginger,
cinnamon & sugar until well blended.

Now add 16 oz. pumpkin, mix while adding
each egg slowly one at a time.
Pour filling into each pie plate just to the top lip.
Bake both pies in oven at 300 degrees for about 70 -80 minutes.
This will depend on your oven. Our pies cooked in 70 minutes.
Check cheesecake with a knife right in the middle ...
The knife should come out clean & the pie should be firm.
Let cool for 5 minutes then transfer to the refrigerator overnight to chill.

The next day you will be ready to
serve with whipped cream on top !

By the way...
this pie was a HIT with all
the girls & Mom's on Club day.
ENJOY!!

Little Ladies.....

Freckles went to her Keepers At Home group this last week.
They all received their special aprons and
badge to wear each club meeting.
When they receive their achievement pins,
they will be fastened to the pockets.
They turned out adorable...I love the vintage feel to them.

We started out in prayer and singing hymns together.
Then, off to learn a new stitch for their embroidery samplers.

The lazy daisy stitch...
a little complicated for little fingers.
They did wonderfully!
I am so proud of my little lady.

After their sewing circle time they had the chance to make three beautiful cards.
Each month a girl & her mother teaches a class on a new skill.
This Mama and daughter even brought
a professional Stamp It Up! lady to help with the cards...
They turned out so sweet!

They need to send out a few cards to someone special
in their lives as well as write 8 letters in order
to receive their achievement pin.
The purpose of this lesson is to show that most wives
are the ones who write out Thank You,
Christmas, Birthday, and Get Well cards.
It is special to receive a hand written card or letter
during such times, making it very personal.

I am thankful that our little lady will have this experience.
One, I know will be beneficial to her when she becomes
a wife and mother to her own household.
I do believe that it is a rewarding job.
I pray she will glorify God in her work.

Keepers At Home.....

My daughter & I went to our first Keepers At Home Club meeting,
which our friends started from Church.

A group of Mothers and daughters, to teach and
prepare girls to become godly, competent keepers of the home,
Christian wives, and mothers.
It not only includes extensive skills for practical living and creative handiwork,
but provides for spiritual growth as well with a variety of Bible reading
and memory work,
and even a study on Proverbs 31.

The girls started their stitchery projects, which will give them great practice.
They also started an applique quilt which we will share next month as it progresses.
They spent time singing a hymn, working on their craft, fellow shipping and having a yummy snack which each girl will have to bake from a recipe this month.

Every month they will meet, practicing their stitches,
working on a craft, bible memorization, singing hymns and sharing a new recipe.
Each girl will also receive an apron which they
will wear and collect their achievement pins on.

There is nothing more important than teaching
our daughters to love the Lord and live godly lives by serving
Him and by living for Him.
We can best live for Him by living our lives in the role
He has designed for us~being help meets and keepers at home.
