For our
Monday Outdoor Challenge,
Monday Outdoor Challenge,
Freckles and I painted pet rocks outside.
We took simple stones, making them into funny lil faces.
If you were a child in the late 70's you may remember
the Pet Rock that came in a cardboard box with instructions
for people who needed a low maintenance pet. Though it was a fad...
the guy who sold little Grey rocks in a box became a millionaire over it.
Personally I never had one myself...
C'mon... a rock I can find in my own backyard.... why would I buy one.
We had fun painting our pet rocks just how we wanted them to be.
Freckles made silly faces with googly eyes. I made her an owl...
The best part was we were doing this together outside in the sunshine.
Okay readers... have you ever had a Pet Rock, or bought one?
Or did you get one from your own backyard and keep it as a pet?
Inquiring minds want to know....
If not...Get OUTSIDE, find a rock, make it your pet.!
Ohhh how fun, we will have to find some rocks. Maybe we can paint at the beach !! xoxox Clarice
ReplyDeleteI remember the pet rock craze....wish I would have thought of that....yours are very sweet......a friend gifted me with a smooth rock that she wrote on....
ReplyDeleteToday I will tried to be,the person God wants me to be....she also painted little flowers on it...it was a wonderful and so simple gift...I love it....blessings
I need that owl one for my baby room.
ReplyDeleteThose are great!! I just love the googley eyes *grin*. I remember hearing about those pet rocks but I myself never had one LOL. We made rock creatures last year and used cement adhesive to glue them together and make funny bodies and stuff. The kids had a great time. I think we're going to have to do it again!
