Summer Faire Workshop~ The Little Farm House

Almost finished with the first week of  The Summer Faire Workshop.
This project was really cute! Junelle calls them Window Cottages.
A little house/cottage painted on a wooden block,
with a paper roof. I made it my little farm house.

I think I need a couple more in my life.

There's No Place Like Home

I must confess...I love home....I am not a wanderlust or a huge adventurer or traveler. I like to stay close to home and not too long away from it. Home is where my favorite people are, where we gather and show hospitality with friends and church family, enjoying meals and fellowship. A place where we can be ourselves in rest and quiet solitude, feeling safe or even enjoy one another's joys, triumphs, dreams, and laughter. And the sad times filled with disappointments, tears or times of unrest and hurts. It's a place where we work, play games, watch a movie and just plain ole' relax....Where we can be raw and real. It is a place where I am able to express myself through decorating or re arranging, switching things out, making it a homey and comfortable sanctuary for my little clan. And though this is a temporal home, I am blessed that we can share our seasons and memories under one roof together with the people I love the most, until our heavenly home is given to us,
we are grateful for the time we have here on earth.

Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young – a place near your altar, LORD Almighty,
my King and my God.

What do you love about HOME?

The Great Room

We moved to our new home in February. Things got busy with life and I haven't taken the time to share better pictures of our home. I thought I would start out with sharing our great room. This is the room of our house where most of our time is spent together as a family. It's one big room hence the name for "Great Room". Our living space, our dining room and kitchen all in one space.
 And we love it!!!!

We bought a couple new pieces for our living room before we moved in...It's bright and cheery. I love all the windows in this room...All together we have 8 windows.

Missy wanted to sneak in a few shots!!!
She sends a big hello your way!!!

We also swapped out our mix match wooden chairs for some metal industrial chairs. I will be painting the dining table white and distressing it soon. Just been a bit busy to get it done...But for sure will do it this Summer while it's warm out.

love my roomy kitchen and huge island...Lot' of room to move around in and surfaces to work on. I am also enjoying my walk in pantry. Every house needs a walk in pantry!

Our home is a nice mix of old and new with cheery colors. I will share more pictures of the rest of our home soon! Thanks for joining me in my great room!

Which Came First...The Chick Or The Egg?

Definitely the chick!
Spring is in the air!! I put out some Springy chicks, eggs and bunnies around the house. I love using different sorts of containers to hold some cute eggs in. Here I used a vintage coffee can and filled it with some happy glittery eggs...

Here I used a bright and cheery vintage ceramic nest bowl for some happy plastic eggs!
The bowl was a recent Thriftscore!

I used a small cloche on a little polka dotted plate. Inside is a darling nest we found empty that had fallen out of a tree...I put a couple tiny glittery eggs in there...So cute!!!

A little yellow colander also holds some eggs, along with another little ceramic dish filled with white plastic eggs. I love seeing these little vignettes around our home!
Makes me happy Happy Happy!!!
One week till Easter!

Gather

Hi all...Yes, I have been on a bit of a hiatus. We got moved and working on getting everything unpacked and organized. Happily we are pretty much finished with the whole downstairs....Just need to finish up the upstairs rooms. Hanging ruffled curtains and organizing Freckles room, getting my studio put together and decorated and actually making our bedroom cute, which is always the last room to ever get done. We are so happy with this house. It is brand newly built. Everything is all new and feels so roomy and big compared to where we just moved out. We have an open great room and spacious kitchen with a walk in pantry....I am so thrilled about my walk in pantry!!! I am a bit late for choosing a word for the New Year...I decided to use the word Gather. This is a whole new year for us. We finally are settling in the area where my hubby pastors our church plant. We are finally able to open our home for bible studies, fellowship, functions, dinners and gatherings. That's where my word of the year comes in. To Gather with God's people in our home,
filling our home with love, laughter and good things.
"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 3:18

These pictures are kind of blurry. I used my phone...Sorry. I will get around to taking better pictures when I have more of our place completed. Just wanted to drop in,
say hello and share some peeks of our new home.

Will be back soon!!!!
Blessings!
