Home Decor~ Inspiration Mood Boards

I made some home decorating Inspiration
mood boards...This is just some of the stuff I would love
to do in my own home. And surely here to give y'all inspiration too.
They were fun to make...I hope you like them. The first one is
The Living Room~
~I would love to re~upholster my chair like the patchwork one here.
It is so stinking cute. I would probably choose a different pallet of color...
But this is pretty close. The couch is from Ikea as is the pendant light..
.I just adore the bright, cheery colors don't you?

Next is a bright
 Kitschy Kitchen~
Oh how I would love that fridge and stove or something like it. I adore vintage linens and a farm sink oh my...The table here would make an awesome kitchen island...and definetly the vintage dishes in white, red and robins egg blue. A red telly and all the accessories...Yummy...

The Dining Room~
I love the colors...the pendant light from Ikea, the fabrics would be great for napkins or table runners etc....Mis matched chairs and a white farm stle log table...This is right up my alley.

The Bedroom~
I love the Ikea bed...I actually have one, the colorful afghan with the polka dotted bedding from Ikea...so fun...An old dresser and side table with hoop art on the walls, patchwork pillows full of color ..I am in love with this. Okay some day.... For now my house is being packed up to be put into storage for who knows how long...I will just have to enjoy these mood boards for now. (sigh).
I will be sure to share some more rooms with you soon. have a wonderful Friday.

Be Still......

"Be still and know that I am God"

Psalm 46:10
As much as I think or feel I can do it all myself!
I must remember to
be still.
I have worked non stop for the past
month and a half trying to prepare for our move.
It is almost finished.
( the unpacking part)
Meanwhile my little family ended up ill,
my hubby sprained his ankle, which left me with
minimal help towards the end.
Oh no, But God is good.
Our dear friends called me out of the blue and said
they were coming to help me get things done!
I didn't even have to ask.
They came and helped us out...
And now there's light at the end of the tunnel!

Until I ended up sick this last week too!
It was a rough, miserable week.
Until this little voice in my mind repeated
"Be still".
I opened my Bible.
And was lovingly reminded to
be still
and know that God is in control.
Never to worry, never to fret.
He is in control!
I needed that gentle reminder.
It truly was a better day for me...
I was able to put our daughters room together!
I know I cannot do things all on my own.

Giving Tidings Of Great Joy...

Tonight was our Home School Groups talent show for a local Retirement home. My son & his friend Jonah played a few of their pieces together for the elderly in our community. What a gift it was to them. There were many families that participated. It was beautiful. All the while we had the opportunity to share the good news with them through song, reciting scripture and spending time with them.

The Lord has surely given these children wonderful talents that truly was used as a ministry to these people tonight. It was a blessing and a gift back to see their hearts fill up with joy as they watched our children perform. My son was able to share his piano, guitar & singing talents which brought a few to tears, even myself.

The little children made a BIG Christmas card and signed it for the Retirement home.

The group brought cookies & punch to share

As well as homemade Christmas cards which were passed out to every one there.

Even little packages were given to each person... just a sweet sentiment to wish them the Merriest Christmas this year.

My daughter served a few ladies their packages... which tickled them down to their toes and straight up into their hearts. My daughter just smiled.

If you ever have an opportunity to give someone the gift of Christ... this is a delightful way to make people feel the joy and the presence of Christ weather they realize it or not. What a gift this was just to give.

When Someone Has Something Nice To Say.....

It gives true inspiration to one's soul. When I read my friend Crystals blog, I saw she wanted to give me an award... I thought that was nice... but I got to reading the words she said about us and I must say.. it touched my heart something BIG !!! Her words were so real to me... for she had the nicest things to say about me and my whole little family. We have known eachother for a couple of years now, we go to the same Church and hang out as our friendship has grown to more like a Sister bond. This loving sweet soul sent from God has been there for me in times of joy and sadness and has endured many vents.

She has never thought ill of me, she has always lifted me up in spirit. She has excepted me for who I am and the way that I am. She has never questioned my love for her when I don't always call, e-mail or leave her comments... she knows what I truly feel without having to even say it.
She says she is an introvert, but when were together I don't see it... we get along so well. I have never in my life had a friend that could truly understand me and just plain love me for me. I don't think I am hard to love.. just a little quiet sometimes. But that's alright with her.
We have many things in common as well as our love for Christ. I consider her a Sister to me an Auntie to my children. Her and her hubby always take the time to visit with my kids.. and when I was unable to go to Church last week. I found out when my Daughter was hiding under the table because she was being excluded from some friends... Crystal was the one to wrap her wing around my little girl and comforted her. That I am thankful for.. She will make a wonderful Mother someday !!!
With all this said, my heart full of thanksgiving for our true friendship.. that she not only loves little ole' me, but she loves the whole package ( My Hubby and kids)
I am blessed.

Thank you for the sweet award... yet I appericiate the words so much more !!!! Here is what Crystal said:
I am so blessed to know this family. Mica is my best friend, but really I love her whole family. Her husband is passionate about his faith and carefully instructs his whole family. He is currently in school to become a Pastor, and I look forward to the day to see him serving as a pastor. He is insightful and caring in words and action.
Their children are talented in many ways. Their daughter has a sensitive heart of gold. She loves those who love her and has a heart to grow up to be a mommy and artist just like her mommy. It is precious.
Their son plays multiple instruments competently, and blesses those who will listen with his very own compositions! Truly amazing gifts. He's also energetic and funny.
Mica, aside from being my best friend is a talented artist, who's forte is creating unique and whimsical dolls. But truly she is an artist in anything she sets her mind to. She keeps a beautiful home, and in addition to being an artist she is a teacher and mother/housewife, all of which keep her happily busy.
The Garbarino's are a real blessing to know, and I find their family homeschool blog a wonderful snapshot of who they are, and their various artistic talents.
***************************************************
So dear Crystal, Sister, friend here is a very special award for you !!! Thank you for always being there for me !!!

Dear readers, do you have that special someone, a friend who gives you support, love and inspiration? Please pass this award on to them !!! Thank you for reading... may you all have a blessed remainder of the week.

Broken

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise" (Psalm 51:17).

The Lord delights in the person with a broken spirit. In Psalm 51

I am beautifully broken.

This is bound to get your day going in the right direction...

This song was sent to me from my SIL, Jeannene. Just wanted to share this with you today since I thought it was sweet and so true.

I asked God to take away my habit.

God said, "No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up."

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.

God said, "No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

"I asked God to grant me patience.

God said, "No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations;
it isn't granted, it is learned.

"I asked God to give me happiness.

God said, "No. I give you blessings;
happiness is up to you.

"I asked God to spare me pain.

God said, "No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to me.

"I asked God to make my spirit grow.

God said, "No. You must grow on your own,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

"I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.

God said, "No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

"I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.

God said, "Ahhhh, finally you have the idea."

May God Bless You.

"May the Lord Bless you and keep you,May the Lord Make his face shine upon you,
and give you Peace...Forever"

The Simple Woman's Daybook...

I am participating in Peggy's Simple Woman's Daybook today!

For Today May 12, 2008

Outside my window....
The sun is trying to creep out of the overcast skies.. I take a breath of fresh cold air coming through the crack of my window while taking in the sites of my large pine trees and my favorite weeping tree.

I am thinking...
Oh how I wish it would stop being so dark and cold, why we aren't getting a proper Spring and where oh where is that sun ???

I am thankful for...
The good Lord allowing me to stay home with my children.

From the Kitchen...
Spaghetti & Meatballs, Texas garlic toast, Romaine salad

am wearing....
Black capri pants, a dark blue fuzzy Old Navy zip up pull over with a black tee underneath with sock monkey slippers.

I am creating...
A large Cherry girl doll for a customer

I am going...
to do some laundry when I am done with this post.

I am reading...
The Little Book Of Christian Character & Manners by William & Colleen Dedrick

I am hoping...
To finish the book " Dream A Little Art" I am writing by June.

I am hearing..
My son talking on the phone to his friend while playing the piano at the same time.. go figure !!

Around the house..
My craft supplies in the living room, home school books on the kitchen table, dog fur on my carpet.

One of my favorite things...
fresh bakery maple donuts

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Monday: Clean piles and finish laundry
Tuesday: Take Vince to his Java class.. nothing to do with coffee.
Wednesday:Survive housework
Thursday:possible lunch with a friend from my art group
Friday: Family Night
Saturday: See if Crystal wants to go to the vintage shoppe

Sunday: Church ( The Lords Day )

Here is a picture that I am sharing:

This is my new craft organizer... isn't it the cutest thing?? It's a vintage suitcase !!! Need a little suit case for yourself go here Suit Yourself.

Comfort....

Comfort is embracing my children and my husband every day. I know my children and husband thrive on their many embraces throughout the day. So do I. We are always telling one another that we love each other. My almost 14 year old boy says I love you... many times throughout the day. I think it is sad when a mother tells me their teenage son is too embarrassed to say it especially in front of people or their peers. Not my boy... he says it even in groups of friends. Love isn't embarrassing. We have always been loving and open parents and well it all starts with the parents ... are you hugging and telling your spouse you love them ? My children see that in our home.. this has become the norm to us... Your children will surely mimic your actions and words. This is my comfort everyday !!!!

Giving Joy Through Music .....

Here is my young man ( on the Right ) with his two friends Ben in the middle and Jonathan on the left. Each of these young men are beautiful pianists... they volunteered to play for a retirment home. Just giving something to the community brings so much joy, but to see the joy in peoples eyes in person is such a delight to ones soul. They were so happy to serve the elderly that evening.

Here is my boy on the piano.

Ben on the piano.

Jonathan on the piano.

Finished Stars......

Update * Here is a link to The Curtis Family regarding the Holocaust stars.. They made it on the news here.
Today the kiddo's finished up their Project Star for the Holocaust memorial that Blog Me Til Midnight is making in their front yard. We are very proud to be a part of this... Taking the extra time out to study about this subject has really humbled our spirits and has deeply touched our hearts. Tonight we will be watching some documentaries on the Holocaust as well.

Here is Mr. V's finished Star. He did a landscape piece which represents the street of trees in Jerusalem.

Here is Miss Bri's finished star. She painted a little girl next to a flower. This picture represents life.

This project will forever be in our memory. We are grateful to have been a part of it.
